The Inner Life of Your Beloved Pet

For the very first time, I received an inquiry about my work from a woman whose 18 (can you believe it) year old dog is nearing the end of its life.  She wanted to know more about its inner life.  I had to applaud this woman for asking a question that is seldom asked and not in such a direct way.  Two weeks before this inquiry, a friend talked about pets “having their own life.”  I believe that he meant the same thing and if I had asked about their inner workings, he would have responded with “of course.”

I wish that more people would recognize that animals have their own thought processes, feelings, reactions, etc.  While many people acknowledge that animals are smarter than many people give them credit for, there may be much more ticking inside your beloved companion’s furry, feathery and reptilian skin.  Any comments are welcomed

This dog appeared at the doorstep of a friend’s house last Christmas.
