Greyhound Pets of America – Northwest-Halloween event

On Saturday, October 24th I attended a harvest event for greyhounds at Tails R Waggin’ Doggy Day Care in Vancouver. It was held from 12 p.m.- 5 p.m. and was truly a day for pet and pet owners.  The dogs dressed up in costume and so did some of the people

who  attended with their pets.  Although people weren’t acknowledged for their costumes, the pets were.

I am not around greyhounds very often and thoroughly enjoyed being in the presence of these gentle and soulful creatures.  They are sensitive and aware dogs that are aware of the people and animals around them.  I swear that I can almost see their minds working!

The event was also a fundraiser for the organization.  People brought baked goods that were auctioned off and sold.  A couple even brought in apples that they picked and donated them to Greyhound Pets of America-Northwest.  Believe it or not, the apples didn’t sell well.  I couldn’t help myself and bought a box for $6.  Canned apple sauce here we come.
