Intuition Tip 1- Develop and Trust Your Intuition

This breathing exercise can improve your decision-making skills by building confidence and trust in using your intuition. Try it out!

Focus your attention on your breathing. Is it shallow or deep? Now begin breathing deeply and slowly.  Feel your stomach, back, and chest expand.  Are you feeling relaxed?

In your mind’s eye, picture a future decision you will make with all its possibilities and complexities (people and situations).   What thoughts come into your mind?  What feelings do you notice?  Do you feel calm?   If you feel uneasy, ask yourself why.   Often a good choice is accompanied with a peaceful feeling.

Also, don’t hesitate to dialogue out loud or silently with your intuition. Pretend that it is a person and ask for information to help you make great choices.  Ask very specific questions and notice the thoughts that come into your mind and any feelings, be they peaceful, uneasiness, chills, etc. that you experience.

I recently used this technique before stepping into a store to insist that it deliver a product that was purchased a few months prior.   I drove in the direction of the store and found parking around the corner.  I parked my car and stepped on the sidewalk before heading in the direction of the store.  I took a breath and stood still for a moment to imagine a conversation with a store employee.   I looked down at the piece of paper in my hand which had the store manager’s name and the corporate headquarters’ location and telephone number.  I felt peaceful and knew that my goal would be easily achieved.

As I approached the store and looked inside, I saw one employee, a woman.   “Go easy on her” I thought to myself and so, I did.  I calmy and slowly told her why I was there as I gave her the details.  She nodded and went over to her computer to look up some information before picking up her cell phone to call a manager.  She was on the phone for a few minutes before ending the conversation.  I was told that the product would be delivered to the store in the next two days.  It was and I received my missing product as promised.
