It is that time of year again- Ghosts Anyone!

Halloween will soon be here as if you didn’t know!  The signs are everywhere, homes, apartments, stores, and signs.  According to one estimate sales are expected to top $9.1 billion dollars.

According to one study-45% are believers

Aside from the commercial aspect, people seem to embrace ghosts and spirits and goblins, even if they really  don’t believe in their existence.  One source noted that about 18% of Americans report seeing a ghost.  According to one “Of the 1,000 adults interviewed Dec. 17-18, the HuffPost/YouGov poll revealed 45 percent believe in ghosts, or that the spirits of dead people can come back in certain places and situations.  When asked if they believe there’s a life after death, 64 percent responded Yes.  While 59 percent of adults don’t believe they’ve ever actually seen a ghost, 43 percent also don’t think that ghosts or spirits can harm or interact with living people.”

My experience has been  that even if people haven’t experience seeing, feeling or sensing something that might be called a spirit or a ghosts, they know someone who has.  I have some of my own personal experiences and have written down some stories that others have shared with me.  I decided to share some stories during this fall Halloween season.  Here is the first story.

Portland Hotels

Several well-known hotels in Portland, Oregon have a reputation for their ghosts. These hotels will remain anonymous to protect the employee who share the details with me. The following is one story.

I happened to be visiting with a hotel sales manager.   I am not sure how we got around to talking about ghosts.  Maybe we talked about the things that happen in the world that can’t be seen by the human eyes.  I do remember that this manager nodded and said that she was a believer as though it was the most natural thing.  The manager shared what happens at the hotel , sometimes, during construction.  Ghosts have been seen walking out of the walls.

I was so stunned, that I didn’t ask questions.  Wish that I had.  Did the ghosts say anything?
What did they look like?  Who saw them?  How did the construction works and employees respond?  Did any of the hotel guests see them?  I  probably could get some answers by going to the  hotel.  The first question that I would ask is “Have you done any hotel construction lately?”
